ClosedCounty Offices Closed for Christmas & News Years Holidays.

Citrus County Government offices will be closed Thursday, December 25 and Friday, December 26 in observance of Christmas, and closed Thursday, January 1 for New Year's Day.

Holiday Schedule

  • The county landfill will be closed December 25, and will re-open from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm on December 26 and 27. Hazardous waste and Administrative offices will be closed on December 25 and 26. The landfill will be closed on January 1, but will re-open on January 2 for regular business hours 8:00 am-4:30 pm
  • Libraries will be closed on December 25, 26 and January 1, and closing at 5:00 pm on December 24 and December 31
  • All Community buildings and Bicentennial Pool will be closed December 25, December 26, and January 1. Central Ridge Pool is closed for the season
  • Parks and boat ramps will be open sunrise to sunset
  • Animal Services will be closed December 25 and 26, and will re-open at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 27 for regular business. They will also be closed on January 1, and will re-open for regular business at 10:00 am on January 2.

Dogs & cats over 1 year old will have an adoption fee of only $20.14 throughout the month of December.

Citrus County is requesting bids for the sale of surplus real property.

Sealed Bids are to be submitted on or before February 17, 2015 for one of the properties and February 25, 2015 for the others, both at 2:00 pmIt is the Bidder’s responsibility to be aware of any and all addenda to the Bid Package.

Have you lost your pet?

There are a lot of folks here in Citrus County that do not know to call Citrus County Animal Services in the case that their pet is lost or missing.

You can either visit the Citrus County Animal Shelter at 4030 S. Airport Rd., Inverness, FL., or you can visit their website at www.citruscritters.com to see if your pet had been brought to the shelter.

Their website is live - meaning if your pet has been brought to the shelter, and has been impounded, you will have instant access to see if your pet is there. Visit this page to see our adoptable animals and/or to see if your lost/missing pet has been brought to the shelter.
