Citrus County waters are Crystal Clear!
Keep informed: Citrus County officials are closely monitoring the location and movement of the oil in the Gulf of Mexico from the BP oil spill.

Firefighters to climb stairsFirefighters to climb stairs in symbolic 9/11 memorial fundraiser.

Some Citrus County Firefighters will climb the equivalent of 110 flights of stairs on Sept. 11 in honor of their 343 fallen comrades who died in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center.

 

Disaster PreparednessSave Lives! Be Prepared!

On September 9th, the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is working to educate citizens in the importance of disaster preparedness. Our goal is to educate 500 citizens with disaster preparedness and response training. Citizens will learn the importance of having a survival kit and communications plan.

Citrus County Extension Services is hosting a green expo to provide real solutiolns for people to live better, healthier lives with less impact on the environment.

Florida Department of Health has issued an advisory/warning of poor levels of Fecal Coliform. Ft. Island Gulf Beach is now closed to swimming until further notice. »View the Beach water sampling results
