Classes & WorkshopsSummer Swim Lessons at Bicentennial Park Pool!

Summer swim lessons will begin on June 4, 2012 at Bicentennial Park Pool in Crystal River. Sessions will meet Monday – Thursday for two weeks. The cost is $30.00 per session. All swim lesson sessions contain eight classes within the two weeks. Classes are kept to a maximum of five to six participants per instructor and a minimum of four participants are needed to hold the class.

Camp FusionRegistration for Camp Fusion now open.

Citrus County Parks and Recreation will again host its summer youth camp program, "Camp Fusion". Activities include everything from arts and crafts to weekly field trips and athletic programs. Camp Fusion is for children ages 6 through 10.

The Citrus, Hernando and Pasco County Offices of Tourism Development are promoting the Nature Coast the old fashioned way, by word-of-mouth.

A week-long trip from May 19-26, called the "Nature Coast FAM Tour", is designed for outdoor/travel writers to experience some of Florida's best attractions. The week-long event will also be filmed to produce a video which will promote the three county destinations.

Citrus County has a number of classes and workshops coming up that involve everything from worm composting, landscaping, and even how to attract birds, butterflies and wildlife to your yard! And... some of these classes are FREE!

Inverness Airport Hangar

Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Inverness Airport Terminal/Maintenance Hangar Project:

Soaring to new heights! That was the sentiment that kicked off a ground breaking ceremony Tuesday morning at the Inverness Airport.

More than 30 people attended the ceremony at the newly constructed aircraft apron off the end of the new 5,000 ft. runway. It highlighted the new Terminal / Maintenance hangar project, close to the proposed business park.

Courthouse turns 100A Celebration That Spans Three Centuries.

The Citrus County Historic Courthouse turns 100 years old this year and the County will be 125 years!

Citrus County will host an anniversary celebration on Saturday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the courthouse, One Courthouse Square, Inverness.  The program will begin on the west side of the building, ending with the opening of the time capsule and the serving of the birthday cake in the second floor courtroom. Also, from 7-11 pm in Historic Downtown Inverness, there will be Music on the Square with a FREE Blues concert featuring Cool Corporate Cats. So bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the restaurants and shops in the fun atmosphere of Downtown Inverness!

County offers rebateCitrus County Utilities Offers Customer Rebate Program.

Citrus County Utilities has kicked off the 2012 rebate program.  Offered to its' utility customers on an annual basis, rebates of up to $100 are issued as incentive to replace older inefficient fixtures with high-efficiency products.  Qualifying products include replacing old toilets, rain sensors and clothes washing machines, as well as adding moisture sensors to irrigation systems.
