The Canning Kitchen is open for business by appointment only. Individuals or families interested in canning fruit and vegetables for their personal use are requested to call for an appointment to use the facility.
Just a reminder, only fruit and vegetable products can be processed. The Canning Kitchen is not available for commercial preparation or for preparation of food for sale.

food preservation techniques at our newly refurbished canning
center. Whether you have been canning for years or are just a
curious beginner, you will find that the equipment, knowledge,
and help available will help you carry on the art of home canning.
 Home processing fresh garden produce or putting up a special favorite sauce or relish is an enjoyable
and highly satisfying experience; not to mention the health benefits offered for those with special
diet needs. Those who are sensitive or allergic to commercial chemical preservatives or added salts can
benefit greatly by home processing foods.
Home canning at the Citrus County Community Canning Kitchen is an opportunity
to provide your family with year round peak quality food that
is cost effective to preserve and environmentally safe to process.
