Citrus County Veterans Service officer Charles Fettes served a 20-year career in the Navy, retiring as a Naval Nuclear Electrician with the rank of Master Chief Electrician. During his career he was responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of all reactor plant electrical equipment on board the USS Nimitz and USS Enterprise. After leaving the service, before coming to Citrus in late 2010, he provided assistance and guidance to veterans and dependants filing claims for benefits with the Department of Veterans Affairs for 17 years.
In his prior service to veterans, he worked for 13 years with the American Legion Department of Michigan Veteran Affairs and Rehabilitation, and before that he served for three years as the Director of Veterans Affairs in St. Clair County in Michigan.
