Employees at workThe Community Development Division oversees the maintenance of the County Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Regulations. The staff includes professionals who provide support to the various County boards including the Board of County Commissioners, the Planning and Development Review Board (PDRB), and the Aviation Advisory Board.

The staff also coordinates closely with other government agencies and the Citrus County School District on land development matters and issues of mutual concern. Public Education continues to be a high priority for the Community Development Division. A clear understanding of the planning process is very important for the process to work efficiently and effectively. Staff actively participates in opportunities to educate the public on the role of the Division and the benefits of Urban Planning.
