The
Citrus County, Department of Development Services, Community Development
Division is providing this locator map to help assist our visitors
in viewing the 2007 Citrus County Aerials. Please read all
the directions below before going to the Locator Map. You will need
to have two programs installed in your computer to view the locator
map and aerials.
The locator
map is a .pdf document and you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader
installed in your computer. If you don't have this software installed,
click the Adobe Acrobat Reader button to the left. This is
a free install.
In order to
view the aerials in Microsoft Internet Explorer, you will need to
download LizardTech's ExpressView Browser Plug-in. For a
free download of LizardTech's ExpressView, click the icon
to the left.
The locator
map is divided up into 798 tiles. The tiles are identified by two
shades of gray. To zoom into an area on the map, you will need
to use the + and - buttons in your Adobe Acrobat Viewer. The magnifying
glass will not work on the locator map face. You will also need
to use the scroll bars on the right and bottom of your browser window
to move the locator map up and down or left and right. The hand
tool will not work on the locator map face. Find the area you
are interested in viewing and click on the tile closest to that
area. Your browser will then begin the download process. You will
need to click your Internet Explorer's "Back" button to
return to the Locator Map. Once you read the information below and
download the free viewer, click the Aerial Point and Click Locator
Map link in the index to the left.
These aerials
have been formatted as MrSID (Multi-resolution Seamless Image Database)
which is an image compressor, viewer, and file format for extremely
large raster graphics images. MrSID, created by LizardTech, works
by putting together hundreds of small image tiles into one large
seamless image that can be compressed and decompressed with little
or no degradation. Although these images have been compressed with
MrSID, and depending on your Internet connection, they may take
up to a minute to download into your browser. Please be patient.
Once the selected aerial is downloaded you will see the zoom in
and the zoom out tool in the upper left hand corner of your browser
window. By clicking on these tools, you can zoom in and zoom out
the aerial. There is also a navigation tool in the shape of a hand
that will allow you to slide the aerial up and down or to the left
and right. When the image is first zoomed in on, it will appear
fuzzy. The image will sharpen as the zoomed in image loads. If you
zoom in too much, the image will distort. You can right click on
the aerial and select "Save Image As" to save the aerial
to your hard drive. This will allow you to view the image quicker
than through the Internet
