Welcome to On-Line Permitting Training

Contractor Portal Main ScreenWe hope this information will make your transition easier from either using the old system to the new system or, if you're a totally new user, from even leaving your home.

We can handle any kind of permit online with the exception of single/multi-family homes and commercial applications.

The new system requires the following:

  • A connection to the Internet
  • Minimum Requirements for Internet Browser: Internet Explorer 5.0 and newer OR Netscape 7.0 and newer. No other browsers will be supported at this time.
  • An email account (preferably one with a large capacity)
  • A login account established with the Building Division. All you are required to do is appear in person at the Building Division, show identification, and have your fax number, your email addresses, and a password. If you are already viewing or scheduling your inspections online, you may continue to use the same login and password, but you must update your fax number.
  • A fax machine capable of "fine" resolution
  • An escrow account with the Finance Department to pay for the permits, or a credit card on file that permits fees can be charged to. If you elect to use a credit card, there is a fee of 3.2% of the amount of the permit, or $2.50, which ever is greater. For more information on setting up an escrow account, click here.
  • You can do Notice of Commencements (NOC) electronically now too. To do so, you must set up a separate escrow account with the Clerk of the Courts to pay for them. For instructions on setting up an NOC escrow account click here.
  • Your licenses and insurance must be up to date.
  • If you are a high volume user, we would strongly suggest you invest in a high speed Internet connection (cable or DSL) from your local cable or phone company. You will still be way ahead even with this additional expense.
