F ire Hydrant Installation Program
The ongoing fire
hydrant installation program consists of the installation
of fire hydrants in areas of existing water service. This
will bring these areas into compliance with existing Citrus
County Codes. These fire hydrants will be a direct
benefit to our residents by providing fire safety enhancement.
This is a multi-year project
targeting the installation of 25 fire hydrants per year.
In the next five years, citizens will be seeing more fire
hydrants servicing the County. Hundreds more fire hydrants
will provide enhanced fire protection and should help reduce
homeowners' fire insurance premiums. Whenever we
install a fire hydrant we will be including a letter to
Homeowners living within 500 feet of the newly installed
fire hydrant.
